Major Space Related Activities for the Week

  • The U.S. House and Senate are in session this week and plan budget hearings regarding military and NOAA spending for 2024.
  • On Wednesday at 9 a.m. EDT, the Center for Global Development (CGD) and the Secure World Foundation (SWF) are sponsoring a Washington D.C. in person and online event, “Within Our Orbit: The Promise of Space Capabilities in Global Economic Development.”
  • Aboard the International Space Station (ISS), cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin are scheduled to conduct the last in a series of recent spacewalks to upgrade the Nauka Multipurpose Laboratory Module. They are to deploy a radiator transitioned from the Rassvet module during an earlier spacewalk. The 7-hour outing, scheduled to start at 11:55 a.m. EDT, is to be televised over NASA TV and streamed over nasa.gov/nasalive
