Major Space Related Activities for the Week
- NASA will name the four U.S. and Canadian astronauts assigned to the Artemis II mission on Monday at 11 a.m. EDT, from Johnson Space Center (JSC) facilities in Houston, an activity that will be broadcast on NASA TV and live streamed over www.nasa.gov/nasalive.
- NASA representatives will join Axiom Space for a Thursday 12 p.m. EDT, news briefing on the upcoming Axiom-2 (Ax-2) private astronaut mission to the International Space Station (ISS) planned for an early May launch. The four-member Ax-2 crew includes two Saudi Arabian astronauts.
- The European Space Agency (ESA) will present a news brief on the upcoming Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer mission on Thursday at 8 a.m. EDT, with launch planned for April 13 from French Guiana.
- Also this week, the International Academy of Astronautics’ Planetary Defense Conference will take place Monday through Friday from Vienna, Austria, with webcast sessions.
- NASA and the Lunar Planetary Institute are hosting a virtual Lunar Surface Science Workshop Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss potential landing sites for NASA’s Artemis III first post-Apollo era Moon landing with astronauts.
