Major Space Related Activities for the Week

  • Axiom Space, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman
    Spacepolicyonline.com (1/21): Thursday is NASA’s annual Day of Remembrance, a tribute to the 17 astronauts assigned to the Apollo 1, shuttle Challenger and shuttle Columbia missions that perished during efforts to advance human space exploration on January 27, 1967, January 28, 1986, and February 1, 2003. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, Deputy Administrator Pam Melroy and Associate Administrator Jim Free will hold a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery at 1:00 pm ET.
  • As part of the tribute NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will host a Day of Remembrance Safety Town Hall gathering on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. EST, that will be broadcast on NASA TV and streamed on www.nasa.gov/nasalive.
  • NASA will also host news briefings on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. EST, on the upcoming launch of the SpaceX Crew-8 mission with three astronauts and a cosmonaut to the International Space Station (ISS). A Mid-February launch is anticipated for those members of the next ISS expedition astronaut crew. Each briefing will be televised on NASA TV and streamed by NASA.
