–The final welding for SLS’s launch vehicle stage adapter (LVSA) has begun at Marshall Space Flight Center. The LVSA will connect two major sections of the SLS — the core stage and the interim cryogenic propulsion stage (ICPS).

–NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center is beginning construction on a second SLS test stand, near the site of another SLS test stand that will stress-test the SLS core stage’s liquid hydrogen tank. The new stand is designed to subject the liquid oxygen tank and related hardware of the SLS core stage to the same loads and stresses it will endure during launch.

–The SLS team exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where more than 100,000 people were able to learn more about our next rocket.
