Mars and its missing atmosphere

Last week, NASA released findings of a six month-long study to determine the composition and history of Mars’ atmosphere. Scientists working on the project posit that the solar wind has gradually stripped Mars of most of its atmosphere, leaving it with a fraction of the atmosphere that it once had.
