Major Space Related Activities for the Week of Feb 10th:
- The federal government is facing a possible shutdown on Friday at midnight if Congress and the White House are not able to come together on a continuing budget resolution. The 2025 fiscal year began October 1 without a formal budget.
- Monday also marks the start of the four-day SATELLITE conference in Washington D.C. and the annual Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in the Woodlands, Texas.
- After several changes in scheduling, NASA’s SPHEREx and PUNCH science missions are scheduled to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Monday at 11:10 p.m. EDT.
- NASA’s Crew-10 mission with two NASA astronauts, a Japanese astronaut and a Russian cosmonaut is scheduled to launch on Wednesday at 7:48 p.m. EDT to the ISS to initiate a semi-annual crew exchange. Docking is planned for Thursday at 6 a.m. EDT. The Crew-10 arrival will set up the departure of NASA’s Crew-9 Crew Dragon capsule with Boeing CST-100 Starliner Crew Flight Test astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to begin a planned return to Earth on March 16.
