Coalition for Deep Space Exploration Congratulates Jim Bridenstine on His Confirmation as NASA Administrator

WASHINGTON, D.C.The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration (Coalition) congratulates Representative Jim Bridenstine upon his confirmation as NASA Administrator. “The Senate vote today marks the beginning of Jim’s tenure at our nation’s space agency as America prepares to return to the Moon and push further into deep space,” said Dr. Mary Lynne Dittmar, President and CEO of the Coalition. “The Coalition looks forward to working closely with Administrator Bridenstine and his team to support NASA’s human exploration and space science programs.”

Bridenstine joins the agency at a pivotal time. Over the next several years, NASA will launch Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion on Exploration Mission-1, return American astronauts to deep space on Exploration Mission-2, begin building the Gateway in Lunar orbit, restore U.S. crew transportation to the International Space Station (ISS), launch the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Mars robotic missions, as well as return robotic landers to the surface of the Moon for the first time in nearly 50 years. As a diverse industry association, the Coalition includes manufacturers and suppliers from around the country, contractors supporting nearly all of NASA’s major spaceflight and space science missions, as well as a range of entrepreneurial start-up companies partnering with NASA on new products and services, such as a lunar lander and in-space manufacturing.

“The Coalition and its member companies stand ready to support Administrator Bridenstine as we take the next steps in the exploration of deep space, returning to the Moon and going on to Mars,” concluded Dr. Dittmar.
