Coalition for Deep Space Exploration Applauds President’s Budget Request

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration (CDSE) is encouraged by today’s rollout of the President’s Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2025. The budget request of $25.4 billion for NASA represents the administration’s ongoing commitment to funding exploration programs, including next year’s crewed Artemis II launch. However, we are concerned about the budget and the long-term funding prospects for the success of missions like Artemis III for the next human landing on the Moon, and missions for years to come.

The innovative, highly capable companies of our space industry, from small businesses to large companies, stand ready to work with NASA to execute our nation’s ongoing exploration missions safely and successfully, particularly to return a human presence to the Moon. The dedicated efforts of the talented workforce of companies across the country ensure NASA’s goals are realized and our country’s international leadership in space is secure. To make this possible, funding for a regular launch cadence will help develop and maintain the space industry workforce needed to preserve our place at the forefront of space exploration.

We urge Congress to fully fund these critical Artemis missions and work with NASA and the Administration to enable the continued progress of the Artemis program, demonstrating our nation’s commitment to a strong and ambitious deep space exploration program.
