Coalition for Deep Space Exploration Announces Retirement of President and CEO Frank Slazer

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Following a career of more than 40 years as a space industry professional and as an advocate for industry and deep space exploration, Coalition for Deep Space Exploration (CDSE) President and CEO Frank Slazer has announced his retirement, effective January 21, 2023. Slazer’s long and distinguished career included service with many major Aerospace companies and associations, including Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Aerojet Rocketdyne, and the Aerospace Industries Association.

Stepping into the role in the spring of 2021, Slazer was the Coalition’s second CEO, overseeing the organization through the launch of Artemis I, and successfully highlighting the importance of the small and large businesses across the United States that are driving human exploration into deep space. Under his tenure, the Coalition advanced awareness and support for our national space exploration efforts.

The Coalition’s Board of Directors has announced that Andrew Allen, CEO of Aerodyne Industries and Vice President and Strategic Advisor supporting Jacobs Critical Mission Solutions line of business, will serve as acting President and CEO while a search is underway for a new Coalition leader.

“Frank’s tenure as President and CEO has been transformational for the Coalition” Allen said. “The Board thanks him for his work to assure that our nation continues to lead the world in space exploration. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
