The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration’s Welcomes an Acceleration of NASA’s Plans to Return Humans to the Moon.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Coalition for Deep Space Exploration welcomes an acceleration of NASA’s plans to return humans to the moon. The goal of placing American astronauts on the surface by 2024, while establishing a sustainable approach to extend our capabilities at the Moon and beyond, is energizing government, industry and academia. Embracing an accelerated program will excite the imagination of our citizens, encourage growth of a competitive and technically astute workforce, invite collaboration with industry and international partners, and generate rapid scientific returns. We urge the Administration and Congress to work together to create a political and budgetary path forward, with a sufficiently detailed plan and appropriate resources, to once again push the boundaries of deep space exploration for all humankind.
