Major Space Related Activities for the Week of April 21st:

  • The NASA-led ISS concluded its latest semiannual crew exchange late Saturday with the return to Earth of Russia’s Soyuz MS-26 capsule with two cosmonauts and veteran astronaut Don Pettit on his 70th birthday.
  • That was followed early Monday by the launch of NASA’s 32nd SpaceX contracted Dragon resupply mission, which is scheduled to dock with the ISS on Tuesday at 8:20 a.m. EDT to deliver a 6,700-pound cargo of crew supplies, ISS hardware and science and technology research materials.
  • The next crew rotation for China’s three-person Tiangong space station is expected to get underway this week. Launch of China’s next three-person crew is anticipated potentially on Thursday.
  • Tuesday marks Earth Day, an annual event celebrated annually since 1970.
  • On Friday, the Secure World Foundation and the Center for Strategic and International Studies will host a webinar on counter space trends.
