Two orbiters, one comet arriving at Mars soon
Aviation Week & Space Technology (9/5): Mars is days away from the arrival of two orbiter, one from NASA and the other from India’s space agency. Upon maneuvering into orbit on Sept. 21 and 24, NASA’s Maven and India’s Mars Orbiter Mission will attempt to unravel changes to the Martian atmosphere that led to the loss of the planet’s water. The comet Siding Springs will pass close to Mars as well on Oct. 19.
