A test version of NASA’s Orion/Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle will go on public display in the coming weeks as it is transported from White Sands, N. M., to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla.,
The spacecraft that NASA has chosen to transport astronauts on a range of deep space missions will go on display at the following venues:
Science Museum Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Okla., Jan. 23-25;
Victory Park and the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Tex., Jan. 27-29.
U. S. Space and Rocket Center, Huntsville , Ala., Jan. 31-Feb. 2
The four person spacecraft will be accompanied by NASA engineers and astronauts ready to discuss the spacecraft and its future missions at each stop.
The spacecraft test article was just to prepare for a 2010 Orion abort system test at White Sands.
The first flight of Orion with astronauts aboard is currently targeted for 2021.
