An unpiloted Russian supply craft docked successfully with the International Space Station on Thursday, delivering 5,800 pounds of fuel, food, water, medical supplies and spare parts.
The Progress 43 linked with the station’s aft most docking port at 12:37 p.m., EDT. There it will also serve as a propulsion source to raise or lower the orbital altitude and re-orient the nearly one million pound orbiting science laboratory.
The Russian spacecraft, which will remain docked through August, was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
