And we’re celebrating with a contest, Explore Our Space, which offers visitors the opportunity to win some cool prizes, including a chance to watch one of the final space shuttle launches from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Throughout July, we’re hosting Explore Our Space as part of a virtual Open House to help our old friends and newest visitors from the space community and the classroom, get acquainted. We hope you’ll return often to check our frequent updates from NASA, Congress, the White House and the news media on dynamic developments from space and the people who shape our exploration agenda.
We’re posing five questions for you to answer in order to be entered to win the prizes. With our new look, it’s even easier to explore our website – or Explore Our Space – until you find them. You have until July 31 to submit your answers.
We’ll draw winners on Aug. 2 and notify each of them immediately by e-mail.
Now, a look at the cool prizes…
The grand prize is four tickets to view the STS-133 launch, the last mission of shuttle Discovery, which is currently scheduled for Nov. 1, 2010. The tickets include entry to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and access to the closest public viewing area to the launch pad. The tickets do not include travel or expenses related to travelling to Florida to view the launch.
We will also be giving away 10 pairs of IMAX movie tickets, redeemable at the IMAX Theater of your choice.
In addition, everyone who answers the questions can download an Exploration Digital Prize Package, which includes cool space-themed icons and wallpaper to customize your computer background.
3, 2, 1…It’s time to Explore Our Space.
