The versatility of NASA’s Orion spacecraft will be unmatched among any other spacecraft in history. Capable of supporting four astronauts for up to 21 days, Orion will be America’s first truly deep space exploration vehicle. Combined with a service module, Orion will be able to support astronauts on missions to asteroids or even Mars.
Carrying four to six astronauts, Orion will have an interior volume of 5.9 m3 (210 cubic feet), and will have the capability of being upgraded over time, allowing engineers to continually modernize the spacecraft.
