NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s David Hitt recently authored a blog post about his close-up experience at the RS-25 test fire in August. As a senior writer for NASA’s SLS team, David has had the opportunity to see several actual launches, but an engine test-fire is a different beast–onlookers saw the entire nine-minute test, not just the few seconds of engine fire that launch viewers see.
